Am I alone on this: when I am driving my bus or bug, & I see an oncoming
vanagon I check it out, similar to how a guy will check out a chick, I mean,
woman.  I try to determine the type (syncro, westy, gl, etc), year, anything
cool about it, and most of all, make eye contact with the driver and give
them a thumbs-up or a peace sign.  On the open road, all vanagons wave back,
but in town, it is about 1 out of 15 or 20 that wave back. That's the bay
area for you.
