Some makes it into the air, and some (as dust that has settled) goes into the ground. But by-in-large, it goes into streams near roadways. In Environmental Biology, we took a sample of run-off from a local road (on it's way into a local stream). It hadn't rained in a few weeks, so there was a pretty fair build up of cr*p on the road. It was amazing to see how filthy the water was. Lots of oil, tire shavings, metal, huge amounts of trash (gum wrappers, HUNDREDS & HUNDREDS of cigarette butts). Needless to say, it was a "dead" stream. G. Matthew Bulley Bulley-Hewlett & Associates Cary, NC USA www.bulley-hewlett.com (888) 468-4880 toll free -----Original Message----- From: Tom L.
