Spring is here, Summer is coming, and I've been saving up my spare change to fund a short (less than a month)trip in May. Am informally planning to travel from Williamsburg, VA to New Mexico and back. I'll be taking my relatively recently purchased '84 Westy and am perfectly cognizant of the array of potential mechanical problems that might occur--actually, I'm intending the trip to be a test of sorts...hoping for the big stuff to go wrong this summer while I have the time and...gulp...cash to take care of it. Therefore, three questions: 1. Any veterans of a similar trip that can offer route advice--i.e. any highly recommended Westy terriotry between here and NM? 2. What kind of Westy support can I find along the way and where...this is to say, if I'm in a Westy-specifict jam, where should I try to break down? 3. Any thoughts on pre-trip preparation for driving in extreme heat; I've spent most of my driving time on the East Coast and haven't experienced anything too challenging... Thanks in advance for any and all info... SethB '84 Westy Seth C. Bruggeman College of William & Mary American Studies Program http://www.resnet.wm.edu/~scbrug/
