Bill, Let's be realistic here--if crosswinds are such that they are blowing semis off the road then there's not much you're going to be able to do to your Vanagon to keep it between the lines. Sounds like you've got tires with a stiff sidewall--the wider MXTs would not help much with crosswinds. Neither would a rear spoiler in my opinion. Some folks say they've had results with the rear anti-sway bar, that might be worth a try. But because the Vanagon presents such a large cross-sectional area it will always be more susceptible to crosswinds than smaller vehicles. -MM >From: Bill Urban <KC-Sadie-VW@WEBTV.NET> >Just got back from an Easter trip to S. My van is a '91 Carat. It has a front airdam, new Sears >shocks, and new Yoko Y370s ( I'm questioning my choice of these over the >wider Mich MXTs). Someone on the list mentioned a rear anti sway bar so >that is in my van's future. One idea I had was a rear spoiler on top of >the van for downforce. Is one of these made for the vanagon >(projectzwo??) and how much are they? Any ideas that can help with the >wind problem wil be greatly apprecated.
