Just wanted to let everyone know that, after I priced all the stock
components for a new diesel exhaust, I took the Vanagon to the guys at
Classic Muffler in Woodland, California and had them make me a new custom
one. We salvaged most of the pipe from the manifold down and welded a new
pipe and muffler and installed a hanger and tailpipe. Total cost $56 with a
one year guarantee. It would be $30 more for a lifetime guarantee. It sounds
and looks good and doesn't vibrate. I'm not sure how long it will last with
the vibrations from the engine but the price was right for now with vacation
coming up.
