The Rountree method works if you've got the new type door with a little round keyhole in the outside. The MacMillan method works if you've got a pin-tumbler lock *inside* the door that secures a plug into the fill hole. Only the round-keyhole type is available as replacement fitting. d At 15:56 5/5/99 -0400, Robert Rountree wrote: >Simple.... get one pair needlenose pliers..... cut one piece of >coat hanger 4 inches or 10mm long..... make an "L".... the bottom leg of >being 1 inch (this will become the handle) ... now on the long end, bend a >small 1/4 inch or 5mm..... 90degree bend...... that's the key.... the other >end is the >handle.... now bend the handle end, into a spiral or half moon or what ever >fits your whimsy.... and this is the most important part... don't forget the >whimsy....paint with star dust and dry in a Caribbean breeze.. make 2 or >more, keep them in your glove box...
