Thanks for confirming its' function and the offer of an extra switch you
have on hand.

The PO probably diverted the switch for the alarm. I'll know more tomorrow
when I get the replacement part from my VW dealer. It's only $7.70. I'll try
to be more careful in the future. I'm the kind of guy who often tightens a
nut or screw one revolution too much.
