If you want "the best" and have the money for it (around $600) the Paulchen is the way to go. I am getting ready to order a set from Steve at Eurocampers.com when he gets his next shipment in a couple of weeks. He has the better "First Class" style bike carriers and the original style rack. A cheaper aluminum alternative, with a Yakima-like trough carrier is available from Steve as well (Trotter rack), or a similar, cheaper version of the Paulchen can be found in Canada from Owasco. Steve's Euro Camper site for the "good" Paulchen rack (about $600 US): http://www.eurocampers.com/page14a.html The Owasco site for the "cheaper" Paulchen racks (about $450 US) http://www.owasco-canada.com/paulchen.htm Better pictures of the rack at: http://www.vanagon.com/info/vehicles/beethoven/paulchen.html Brent Christensen '89 Syncro Westy "Klaus" '95 Cherokee Sport ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------- From: Paul Seabrook <Paul.Seabrook@CENTURYTEL.COM> Sent: Friday, May 14, 1999 8:45 AM Subject: bicycle rack wanted > I've seen Vanagons with an obviously purpose made for the vehicle bike rack > attached to the tailgate all the time.
