The "fix", which is supposed to be a bracket of some sort, is internal to
the duct.  It does not show anywhere, which is why I chose not to take the
rascal apart to see what they did.  Has worked just fine since the work was
done.  BTW, my duct never sagged so I don't have much to compare against.
