The driver side door of my '87 Westy has started emitting smoke. I removed
the door panel, etc. and found that when the ignition is on smoke appears
from the window regulator. It even sparks when I try press the switch to
roll the window up or down. It seems to me something is shorting, but
where? There's a small wire that runs the length of the window regulator.
Could that be it? Any suggestions as to repairs are greatly appreciated.
