Actually, what happens on high-mileage engines is that the Dino oil has built up sludge around the seals, and the synthetic cleans that away exposing a leak if the seal is worn. Fix +AD0- replace the seal(s) Karl . ----- Original Message ----- From: Shortlidge D Joel +ADw-shortlid+AEA-JUNO.COM+AD4- To: +ADw-vanagon+AEA-GERRY.VANAGON.COM+AD4- Sent: Tuesday, May 25, 1999 1:00 AM Subject: Re: Synthetic Oil Leaks +AD4- It is already to late+ACE- You can't switch back once you have gone over to +AD4- Syn. lubricants+ACE- Sorry, That is why i use Syn. blends, Best of Both +AD4- Worlds+ACEAIQAhACE- Pure Syn. always had a problem with leaking it doesn't swell +AD4- gaskets like dino. juice does.
