Probably disabled by an annoyed passenger! I use a squirt bottle on my cats, but hadn't tried it on passengers... :) Seriously, If the line had fallen off, you would not have sufficient pressure to get water on the drivers side. It must be plugged somewhere. Mine was clogged last year, nothing was visible either. I inally cleared it with a hand pump for inflating vollyballs. With the needle removed, the end of the pump fit flush against the washer nozzle. After a few pumps, It broke free, and I could hear bubles in the reservoir. Subsequent use of the pump brought some water out, the the clog came all the way up into the nozzle where a needle could get at it. Once busted up, the pump was able to blow out all the debris. It literally splattered on the ceiling of my garage. Good luck, Vernon Craddock '90 Standard Vanagon
