Apparently I was the lucky recipient of a virus that attaches itself to
outgoing mail.  It's name is HAPPY99.exe.  It does not mess up systems, just
is annoying.  I have contacted Microsoft and they led me through the
cleaning proces.  They said to mention that individuals should either
contact their providers or try cleaning themselves by logging onto
www.symantec.com or microsoft.com support.  Those two support groups will
lead you through a cleaning process.  Sorry for all this.  madeline clemann
