I did this on a recent rainy day while camped on Cape Cod.  Worked really
well.  Had to drain water occasionally that accumulated in low spots in
the tarp.  Where I went wrong was to leave it set up after we went to
sleep on a windy night.  A gust caught it and ripped it loose breaking
the rear chrome drip rail molding in two at the same time.  :-(
