Robert, the Canadian Vanagon Specifications brochure are quoting imperial gallons which are 5/4 of a US gallon. Our average 20.6 mpg were US gallons. In Imperial gallons our fuel consumption is 25.8 mpg. Another difference that I have noticed between traveling in Canada and in the USA is the fuel pumps. In the US, I can invariably fill the fuel tank to the brim. In Canada, it is almost impossible. I suppose that the Canadian pump specifications are more restrictive but I wonder why.
