Any VW dealer can order you one. The dealer here in San Rafael, CA tells us
that they are on a terminal backorder - at least several (indeterminate
number of) weeks to get one. I'm suspicious that they may be actually
unavailable, but as far as my customers are concerned they might as well be
obsolete. No one is willing to wait an indefinite amount of time for an
engine. Besides that, the whole thing is moot anyhow, since WE rebuild
waterboxers... Installed price ranges between $3500 - 4000.

I've now heard sufficient horror stories about both GEX *and* AVP to be
disinclined towards purchasing reman'd 2.1L waterboxers from them.  I've
heard it's possible to get them directly from VW of Canada - with a VW
warranty! - but I can't seem to figure out where I could get them.
Anyone know a source for these?
