I had this same problem occur 6 years ago in my 91 vanagon while in traffic with 4 kids aboard. I let the VW product liason know in person, when I happened to meet with him on another matter. I'd rather have seen a recall on this instead of that air conditioner duct recall. And yes the duct fell too.. The non-cotter pinned metal accelerator arm that wears against the linkage is the one you probably need... it cost back then 28$ jm -----Original Message----- From: Judith Barr/Leo Girard <lgirard@BMTS.COM> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Date: Tuesday, June 22, 1999 11:49 PM Subject: accelerator linkage 85 Vanagon automatic >Hi gang >The ol' bomb had been running miraculously well.... >Stepped on the accelerator to pass a slow moving vehicle and something >popped....the accelerator went dead to the floor seemingly unattached from >whatever there is on the other side of the floorboards.
