I've replaced my cracked window crank handles several times from junkyard vanagons only to have them crack shortly after. You can buy them cheap enough new but only in black. Brown like mine seem to be made of some precious plastic and the new price is five times the black price. So during my lunchtime visit to the junkyard I found a 1990 Jetta with brown window cranks. They look good. fit fine, and hopefully will last. Price was only $1 each. Anybody else w/ brown broken window handles should try Jetta (or Golf) brown ones. Not a major find but a useful one just the same. eric.henning@bailey.com 80 westy (70k miles) ps - in the local free auto trader a dealer is advertising a 1980 westy, 60k miles - $5900.00. Taking into account the 10k miles difference between that one and mine, I'll glady take 5900 * .9 = $5310.00 ; )
