Mike your problems with the engine sound electrical in nature to me. Dampness and altitude effecting engine performance could be caused by bad plug wires, bad distributor cap, rotor, plugs, or bad grounds in the engine compartments. Your window air leaks are caused by the window seals going bad. Call your local dealer and get new ones. They are the cheapest source for these. I just replaced my seal on the driver's side and now it's quiet again. Now I can hear that the seal on the passenger side need replacing. Let me know what you find out.
