Subject:Re: intake air for cis van

Greetings

David did use a 3" pipe and it does fit the rubber boots from an 1.8L
GTI, Jetta, etc. I am doing the same swap in about 3 weeks and I think I
found some alternatives. Basically I am doing the same setup as Davids
double cab, 2.0L, except CIS-E in a syncro van. From the throttlebody to
the fuel distributor I am going to try the 3" rubber snorkel from a 88
Cutlas/Sierra, connected to the stock GTI plastic air tube, which fits
the fuel dist. boot. Keep in mind that I have not tried this yet, just
theory, length is my only concern. The Cutlass snorkel fits the VW
throttlebody. Good luck.
