don't know if this bears mentioning, but i recently found myself 120
miles from my tool box in order to pull a tranny from a vanagon ('84).
i had my 12 pt. star 'tool', but as i began to remove the second drive
shaft (driver's side) i found that the nut heads were not the 12 pt.
stars as the other, but that of a six pt. allen head.  luckily, i
retained my sense of humor and reached for the vice grips.  jsyk, fwiw,
if anything.
