Is the door prop thingy for while parked/camping or for while in motion? We use a short bungee for this when parked...If "in motion" is the answer, is the Vanagon prone to "sucking" exhaust fumes, etc. back into the body when traveling with the door is propped open? Boy, I'd love to have a little more flow through, as long as it isn't a CO hazard... G. It's a gizmo about three or four inches long, one end fits on the hatch striker plate assembly on the body of the van, the other end fits into the hatch locking mechanism when the hatch is closed. This enables you to lock the hatch and still have the hatch door open about an inch or two,>> All- I had also heard of this idea from a PO of a Westy I bought several years ago, and he said it was the best mod he'd ever done to it.
