U-joints can be replaced and the shaft balanced by Proven Force Clutch and
U-Joint in Minneapolis.  The charge is a little over $ 100, plus shipping.

They have done about a dozen Syncros this past year, and after a little
learning curve early on (including mine which was their first effort), they
have had no warranty claims since then, so I guess they now have it right.
