         Yes... It was called a GL Carat Wolfsburg in 1989 and MultiVan in
         1990 and 1991

you got the '90-'91 Multivan thing right, but there's no "GL Carat Wolfsburg"
let alone one with a poptop......

there's a '89 vanagon gl wolfsburg  and it has the "carat style " interior,
in diagonal grey velour - but its not badged as a "Carat".  it doesnt have a
poptop either.
