For what its worth here's my expirience:
1. 1987 Syncro Westfalia
2. VW Reman. from dealer (FlynnVW) installed by Jim DiGennaro
3. Cost--about $3,000 installed. Feb.'99
4. Miles: 8,000
5. Problems: none
All things being equal, I'd definately go with the dealer engine again.
I've visited the Scarborough ON plant while at the Great Canadian Bug
Show a few years back. Even got a copy of their brochure. Darnedest
thing, at that time most of the engines they were remanufacturing were
for Chrysler and Mitsubishi!
