Subject:which extinguisher?
From:Bulley

I seem to recall we talked about this a couple years ago, but I don't
recall the answer, so here it is again.

Which extinguisher do you folks prefer for use in your Vanagon/Westfalia?
We still carry a little 10A5BC (I think) that came with the Westfalia. I
would hate to use that thing because of the hideous mess that dry chemical
extinguishers make.

SO, in addition, I usually throw in a gigantic 39lb CO2 extinguisher I own;
it actually carries 15lbs of CO2. I have put out a couple of fires for
practice with this, and it seems VERY effective, and leaves no powder
melted to everything. I have never had the misfortune to use it on a raging
vehicle fire, and wonder how well I could expect it to perform, and whether
there are SMALLER, clean alternatives to this huge extinguisher...

Volunteer firefighters...? Per...?
