Subject:Removing A/C from 81 Westy
From:Melissa E. Mourkas

I am halfway through removing the air conditioning equipment located in
the cabinet above the rear deck in my Westy. In fact, the cabinet is
currently hanging at an angle because the blower unit inside is still
connected to three hoses running into the side cabinet(driver side, US).
One has what appears to be a sensor and/ or ground wire hooked up to it,
another is coated with black goo, and the third is a black rubber hose
which looks just like the one on the other side of the unit(passenger
side, US) which dispenses with the condensation from the unit.

I need to remove this a/c unit from my van and have promised these parts
to another listee, so I do not want to trash anthing. I also don't want
to disconnect a hose and die from freon poisoning or worse. All other
a/c parts from the engine compartment have been removed.

I need help understanding what these 3 hoses are and how to get them
safely disconnected. I tried Gerry, but the Archives are currently
unresponsive. Thanks!
