Hmmmm, I replaced the water pump on my '86 Syncro about two months ago and I >did not< have to remove any pullys. I did remove the tube that runs behind the pully, but I accomplished that by patiently working it out to the left side. John-Reed Maffeo '86 Syncro Mesa, AZ
