I started smelling fuel after filling up; more so than the usual backsplash, etc. Also, it was on the driver's side near the door (it's a 2WD, so gas tank is in the front). Turns out it's dripping at one of the 2 hoses off the white expansion tank (I assume that's what that thign is) in the wheelwell. It's an original rusty crimp clamp, so I can't tighten it. The question: The braided fuel piece that makes the bend an goes from the expansion tank nipple to the metal line, is that standard 7mm fuel line? Also, it stops dripping shortly after I stop the vehicle. Is that tank perhaps a return line expansion tank? -Karl Karl and Kristina Bloss, Trexlertown, PA '87 Westfalia Weekender "Beverley" - 186K miles VW Mechanic list: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/vwshops Busses by the Trail - Oct 15-17, 1999: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/bbtt PA/NJ Vanagon owner's mailing list: http://www.onelist.com/subscribe/pavanagon
