What else should I check? Temp II sensor and ground straps. Temp II is on the side of the thermostat housing, is blue, and can be changed without draining the coolant. You will lose about a quart of coolant, so catch it and dispose of properly. You'll want to bleed your cooling system after that. Part is pretty cheap as I recall (around $10 maybe?). Mine's getting flaky again according to the Digifant tool <http://scribers.midwest.net/midwesty/vw/Vanagon/DigiFantTool/> even though I changed it less than 2 years ago. -Karl Karl and Kristina Bloss, Trexlertown, PA '87 Westfalia Weekender "Beverley" - 186K miles VW Mechanic list: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/vwshops Busses by the Trail - Oct 15-17, 1999: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/bbtt PA/NJ Vanagon owner's mailing list: http://www.onelist.com/subscribe/pavanagon
