As far as I know there doesn't seem to be a wear & tear or breakage issue with internal VC components, just that the internal "strudle paste" becomes cooked and the unit needs a good cleaning and fresh "strudle paste". is that right? Are the places that have the technology to recondition a VC so busy that this apparent market is unattractive or unprofitable? What ever happened to good old american business acumen and greed?
