Given the age of Vanagons and the nature of German plastic, I'd expect
removing the jets to result in breaking them.  I would either attempt
cleaning them without removing them or just planning to replace them.
My experience is based on living in southwest USA; YMMV.  (This is
where a list vendor comes in ...)
