The leak is most certainly because of a gasket not sealing properly, but have you tried to tighten the bolts a bit? They may be a bit loose, thus not applying correct pressure at the gasket. If it doesn't help, you need to replace the gasket. The silicone thing could help, but I would consider it a temporary fix only. PerL 87 Syncro 112i
