Grey water can be used effectively in well planned systems, but simply dumping it on the ground may cause real problems. As with anything, a little goes a LONG way. Excessive nutrient problems (nitrogen, phosphorous, etc) may not be apparent to most folks, and the small additions each individual may contribute may not seem like much, but eventually, they become really serious. Additionally, food wastes create nuisance problems (and mixed with soaps can create wildlife illnesses) while "other" wastes create additional concerns. -- Please remove "faux." from my reply-to address above in order to send a reply.
