Subject:VW jack and tire changing
From:David M

I recently had occasion to replace my 2 rear tires and had to use the
VW-supplied jack.
After my criticisms of VW's spare tire mounting system, I feel it only
fair to laud VW over their design of the jack. Its marvellous, the
easiest jack to use I have ever had; it makes tire changing a breeze.

Incidentally, the tires I got were Cooper Lifeliner STE 215/70R14, rated
96T 640/A/B M+S and 1565 lbs at 44psi. These were $75 plus $7.50
balancing each. I just could not see paying over $100 for the Michelins.
I think the Coopers will give me a better ride and will last longer.
