I'm having a bad Vanagon week! I lost the clutch on my '87 on Sunday while 160 miles from home. When I got home I re-assembled the dash into my '84, after replacing the blower motor, so I could use it to go to work. Today I noticed the battery and EGR LEDs light faintly when the van is running and the dash and headlights are dim. The battery and EGR LEDs don't illuminate when the ignition is switched on. The alternator does not appear to be charging! Is this symptom indicative of an alternator problem or is it likely related to the removal/replacement of the instrument cluster?
