"The first Vanagon entry retired with a broken gearbox in the third hour.
 The second entry blew a head gasket just before the 2nd chicane on the
Mulsanne Straight.  The massive gush of hot coolant coated the rear tires
sending the Vanagon out of control at over 200kph and resulted in a
spectacular end over end flip.  Although the vehicle was demolished, the
driver, "Leadfoot" Lilley, was uninjured.  Volkswagon AG withdrew the
balance of the team from competition due to product liability concerns."
