Hans, Just a few days ago I addressed this problem by suggesting the use of a 3M clear film that is applied to the surface of the vehicle much like you apply window tint film. It is also as easily removable. This film is used in the racecar world to protect the paint on the cars from chipping and peeling during a race as well as preventing the various decals from peeling off at high speeds. It also is U/V repellant, meaning you won't have to worry about paint fade in sunlight. Though I have not used it myself, it appears it would be superior to a "Bra" in that it is a onetime application, protects the paint forever..or until you remove it, and will not give you that paint sanding and scratching on the paint that a "Bra" will do when it traps grit and dust under it. I plan to use it when I paint my van in the not to distant future. You really should explore the possibility.
