Saw this ad recently:

"1981 CAMPER Excellent cond. except motor (needs one). $1800."

Could anybody tell me a ballpark figure for a 81 air-cooled engine?

Also, a 83 Westy I looked at over the weekend had a oil cooler situated on
the outside of the bus (drivers side, near engine).  Anyone know if this was
standard to early 80's Vanagons, or an additional oil cooler (Muir suggests
a similar operation)?
