Happened to me once, five times in one day.  Sprayed the entire latch
mechanism liberally with WD40 the next morning, and then opened and closed
the door about 30 times in a row. That was a year ago and it hasn't happened
since. Never did find out why it was actually sticking, but have no reason
to care.  Hopefully the solution is as simple for you.
