Yes i am the guy who had the '80 vanagon fire as well.  Now today was
something totally different.  I was driving home and i stopped at a light.
The car made funny noises and died.  I couldn't start it at all, in any
gear.  Now it all it does is coast as if it is in neutral.  It works
somewhat in first gear and reverse works great.  I don't know where to check
the transmission in a '80 vanagon camper so if you can help me please it
would be greatly appricated.  If the clutch is out please tell me where i
can find a new one in Portland, OR and how much it would run me.  Thanks
