I took the tin from the bottom of my 82 Diesel today.  I have
leaks, and I can't abide with that.  It looks like I have a leak
in the area of the filler tube and also a leak around the oil
pan gasket.  I am going to clean up under there and go for a
short drive to confirm.

BTW, there is a steel crossmember protecting the oil pan.  I
plan to leave the tin off.
