In a message dated 99-11-11 21:36:06 EST, you write: << i never could figure out why westys cost more out on the west coast, when there are more of them out there, than out here on the east coast, where theyre harder to come by.... >> HMMMM, I live in Virginia, last time I checked, it was in the east. Where is this east coast with the cheap Westy's? Sorry. don't mean to be a smart ass, Chris, but from my 4+ years of being involved with Westy's ( Bays), and from my extensive travels to California and Arizona, I'd say west coast prices are much better, although they have been rising, I believe mainly due to the internet, and west coast folks seeing ads like "76 Westfalia, from California, rust free, $7,000.00" Does anybody actually pay this much for one? A quick look yesterday at air-cooled classifieds on the type2 list showed several buses in the $7-12K range. I coulda had a '79 Deluxe I found in Phoenix for around 4K, and it was by far the most perfect Bay I've ever seen ( next to Bob Busick's '69). That same Westy here in the east would go for 7-8K, based on what I've seen. Jeff S.
