To lower exhaust temp (and engine heat load in general):
1/ Intercooler: An Audi 5000T unit fits well in the driver side rear air
intake. Only tricky part is to get the right S-hose for the tight
routing. Self made one are no good as I experienced!
Can easily lower exhaust temps 100F or more!
2/ Free flowing exhaust. And better breathing in general.
Even 2.5" "performance" and "turbo" mufflers make a difference
on temps compared to straight pipe when I tested.
