Traditionally, in Scotland, the husband had to trot around the exterior of
the house with a basket of field stones on his back for the entire time his
wife lay inside in labor...the thought being, it was the only way he could
appreciate her struggle. A point to ponder...

tomorrow and they are going to induce labor (she is past her due date).  I
