Hi all,
  I have an 86' Vanagon, Stella, and her speedometer went.  I checked
the cable and it is intact to both the instrument panel and to the
tire.  I was wondering about the function of the cable retaining
circlip.  Is it supposed to be secured tightly?  Stella's is loose,
meaning that it turns with the wheel.  Any info or insight would be
wonderful..
