Hey Joe,

Our stove vibrates deafeningly, too.  We use 2 dishtowels to cushion it -
one towel on top of the stove grate, then fold down the steel work surface,
and lay another towel on top of that.  If it is really loose, fold the
towel a few times.  Works great & handy towel storage, too!
