Subject:Mending tent fabric, was: 8 inch gash

Zoltan-

It depends on what you call 'undetectable'.

If you want a repair that is not very obvious, and quite sturdy, I would
try an Iron-on patch on the INSIDE of the tent. They come in many colors,
including tan. Cut patch slightly larger than the gash, round the edges of
the patch, have a partner wrap a plank with a thick terry-cloth towel and
press this against the outside of the tent at the gash. Warm up the family
clothes iron and press the patch in place per the instructions on the
package.

Cheers,

Hi everyone

I wander if this has been answered yet. I have an 8 inch cut in my tent
canvas and I still do not know how to mend it nice enough that it will
look decent and fairly undetectable.
