Atlanta mechanics???? Hmmmm.... Import Service Center, formerly in Little 5 Points, has moved over on Dekalb Avenue across from the Candler Park Marta Station. They rebuilt my '72 Bus engine in '81, and my '81 this Summer. One third of their business is still air cooled, and the rest is, alas, water cooled and current models. Nothing personal. I believe they are very honest, but work does take somewhat longer than originally talked about. The owner is Dan Sullivan, an old VW person who is nice and pleasant to deal with (20+ years experience). I believe that they do good work at fair prices, but you would be well served to go back and check their external work--I found more than a few loose screws and fuel line clamps that needed immediate attention (=tightening) by me after my van came back from them. Email me for more details.
