As my "91 Carat approaches 100k miles it seems that something breaks down
every day. In the last month, the remote rearview mirror went up in smoke,
literally; next the passenger side window; the brakes started to fade; the
odometer stopped working; the heads started leaking; and last night, the
headlights went out, fortunately a few blocks from the house.

I have taken care of the brakes, so far. And will take care of the rest as
time permits and in order of importance. So, can anybody help me with the
headlights? This morning all the lights tested OK by pulling on the hig-
low-beam stick. I can see the four units on. But when I try to turn them on
by way of the switch nothing happens. Tomorrow, I will buy a new switch, but
if anybody has other ideas please let me know.

Thanks, again.

Felix

Are Vanagons designed to last 100k, or less?
